Indigofera X Björn Atldax — The Skull Project
SKULL PROJECT #1 BY BJORN ATLDAX: SAFE HAVEN
Pirateflags used many more symbols than the skull & bones. The flags were designed to frighten and intimidate a pirate’s intended victims. Pierced hearts for the willingness to kill, horns for the devil, the Kraken to show mastery of the sea, nakedness for the lack of shame and the hourglass to show that your time was up are just some of the symbols that were used.
SKULL PROJECT #2 BY BJORN ATLDAX: BARON SAMEDI
Loa are the spirits of Voodoo. They are the intermediaries between the spirit world and humanity. They are not simply prayed to, they are served. Every loa has his or her own unique Veve (symbol). These are used when inviting the loa to temporarily take possession of a human body to communicate. In the middle is the Veve of Baron Samedi.
SKULL PROJECT #3 BY BJORN ATLDAX: THE KAPPA
The Kappa is a Japanese river monster that loves cucumbers and wrestling. They assault humans to try to remove the mythical ”Shirikodama” from their victim’s anus. It has a cavity on its head filled with water, if it dries out, it loses its powers. Fortunately it is also very polite, so, if you bow to greet it, it also does and the water on its head spill out.
SKULL PROJECT #4 BY BJORN ATLDAX: Mixtec calendar
The Mixtec mosaic skull represent the god Tezcatlipoca. One of four powerful creator deities and an adversary to Quetzalcoatl. The border consists of 20 symbols that is the base of the Mixtec calendar: The Tonalpohualli. It is a cycle of 260 days, each day signified by a combination of a number from 1 to 13, and one of the 20 day signs.
The Blanket comes with 3D Glasses so you can enjoy the 3D effect of the blanket when you feel like.
SKULL PROJECT #5 BY BJORN ATLDAX: TAROT DEATH CARD
The Grim Reaper. The skeleton survives long after life has left it. A boat, escorting the dead to the afterlife. On the horizon, the sun sets between two towers, dying every night and being reborn every morning. A five-petal rose, reflecting purification and immortality. Endings and beginnings, birth and rebirth, change and transformation.
SKULL PROJECT #6 BY BJORN ATLDAX: DIA DE MUERTOS
A Mexican Aztec/Catholic hybrid holiday on the 2nd of November. Indigenous traditions to honor and remember the dead fuses with Catholic practices & notions of an afterlife.
Skulls represent dead loved ones, Monarch butter ies are the souls of the departed and Marigolds stand for a doorway to the dead. These are all symbols often used on this day.
SKULL PROJECT #7 BY BJORN ATLDAX: Yorick
In Hamlet everything has a meaning. Yorick’s skull reminds us of our mortality and the idea of equality in the afterlife. Bad weather is forebodings of terrible events to come.
The ghosts symbolizes the victory of evil. Ophelias owers: Pansies and rosemary for remembrance, fennel for adultery. The mousetrap is Hamlet’s plan to frame his uncle.
SKULL PROJECT #8 BY BJORN ATLDAX: DIA DE MUERTOS
A Mexican Aztec/Catholic hybrid holiday on the 2nd of November. Indigenous traditions to honor and remember the dead fuses with Catholic practices & notions of an afterlife.

SKULL PROJECT #9 BY BJORN ATLDAX: ROOT OF ALL EVIL
The most ancient & powerful symbol of evil is of course the turnip. It has been used in soups and dark rituals since before the dawn of time. When black magicians pair it with animal skulls and tools of modern angling it grows even more potent and becomes a tool that can wreak total havoc and misery upon our world. Beware…
SKULL PROJECT #10 BY BJORN ATLDAX: BEHEMOTH
The beast of the earth in Christian and Jewish tradition. A docile herbivore that loved lotusflowers. It ended up being killed by god in cold blood and was fed to ”righteous” humans. ”Look at Behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox. What strength it has in its loins, what power in the muscles of its belly!”
